TrendMicro False Positive – Ruins A Company’s Launch

We just launched a project and website for one of our clients a few days ago. This site was brand new, but in less then 48hours TrendMicro blocks it and says it is malicious.

So we looked over all of the site, database and files and found nothing.

We then requested a admin at the datacenter where our server is to look over and see if we could of missed something.

They came back with nothing, just as we did.

So now we have a client who spent over $30,000USD to build the site and do some offline promotions to build the brand. And now the 3rd most popular AVG is blocking the site.

We have contacted TrendMicro and pretty much we need to get our lawyer involved. What a great company.

So if you use TrendMicro and it blocks a site it might have nothing wrong with it.

I will keep this updated as there is a lot of money lost over this false positive.

And from what I am reading by searching online this goes on a lot with TrendMicro, heck they even blocked the Yahoo bots so if you went to view the cached version of a site on the Yahoo serps you would have a blocked page (if you use TrendMicro)
